Burkhalter: More should be done to implement previously reached agreements on Donbas
Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland Didier Burkhalter believes that the parties to the conflict in Donbas should take more efforts to implement the agreements that were previously reached to ensure peace in Donbas.
"You need to negotiate, need to do more so that the previously reached agreements should be observed. If there was an opportunity to withdraw large-caliber weapons, we could soon establish peace in this region," he said at a joint press conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin in Kyiv on Wednesday.
Burkhalter also said Switzerland, together with the International Committee of the Red Cross, is working to free hostages and to improve the humanitarian situation in Donbas.
