Village council head exposed on taking EUR 250,000 bribe
Law enforcers have exposed a head of the Martusivsky (Kyiv region) village council on taking a bribe of EUR 250,000.
According to the press service of the prosecutor's office of Kyiv, the head of the village council has been given a preventive measure in the form of custody for a period of 60 days with the possibility of making a bail amounting to UAH five million.
Earlier, on March 20, 2017 investigators of the Kyiv city prosecutor's office together with the SBU detained the head of the village council of Martusivsky region immediately after receiving EUR 250,000 of improper benefits for assisting in the allocation of four hectares of land within the village of Martusivka.
He is suspected of committing a criminal offense under Part 4 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (obtaining of an unlawful benefit by an official in a particularly large amount).
