Personnel decisions at NVMK do not require separate approval from Veterans Affairs Ministry

The state institution "National War Memorial Cemetery" has said personnel decisions at the National War Memorial Cemetery (NWMK) do not require separate approval from the Ministry for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine.

"Personnel decisions on the admission of employees to the staff of the state institution are made by the head of the institution within the limits of the powers granted to him and do not require separate approval from the Ministry for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine," the NWMK statement states, explaining the procedure for making personnel decisions at the state institution.

It noted that the media and other interested parties may contact the head of the state institution, as well as the department for communications and information technologies, in particular with official requests related to the exercise of personnel powers, in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of Ukraine.

As reported, on January 15, the Verkhovna Rada summoned the Minister of Veterans Affairs Natalia Kalmykova to a meeting to report on the issue of possible abuses of reservation from mobilization at NVMK.

On January 16, Kalmykova stated that the Ministry of Veterans Affairs had launched an internal investigation into information about reservation from mobilization at the State Enterprise NVMK.

Earlier this week, People's Deputy Yaroslav Zhelezniak (Holos faction) published information on his Telegram channel that political strategist, founder and host of the YouTube channel Icelandia Volodymyr Petrov had allegedly been an employee of NVMK since July 31 and received a military draft waiver.

On January 16, the State Enterprise confirmed to Interfax-Ukraine that political strategist Petrov works there as a leading specialist in the communications and information technology department. It was noted that Petrov's functional responsibilities include preparing information materials, providing information and communication support for the activities of the NVMK, monitoring the information space, preparing analytical reports, administering and replenishing the institution's information resources, and, on behalf of the head of the department, interacting with the media and other information platforms.
