Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman is convinced that the current electoral legislation does not reflect the real attitudes of people and therefore there is a need to adopt an electoral code.
"As for the electoral legislation. In fact, it is very weak and non-transparent. The current legislation makes it impossible to reflect the people's real attitudes in the election outcome," Groysman said at the conference titled 'Transformation 17. What will the reforms change in the life of Ukrainians?' in Kyiv on Thursday.
Bills prepared with experts' participation are currently available, he said.
"I think it is now time for Ukraine to have an electoral code as a fundamental system, which will be adopted once and according to which the entire country will live," Groysman said.
The election system that was used in the local elections is not perfect, he said.
