SBU: Criminal case opened involving Russia's UAH 2 bln theft of Ukrainian state property
Employees of the main directorate of Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) in Crimea has documented evidence showing the Russian Federation seized property belonging to Ukraine's State Property Fund on the peninsula.
"Law-enforcement agents have established that representatives of the Russian occupation authorities illegally took possession of property, land plots, administrative buildings and material assets of the State Property Fund (SPF) office in Crimea and in Sevastopol. More than UAH 2 billion in damages was incurred as a result," the SBU press service said.
"Available information shows SPF property seized by the so-called Ministry of property and land resources of the Crimean Republic of the Russian Federation."
A criminal case has been opened pursuant to Article 341 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Pretrial investigation of the alleged crime is in progress. The court ruling awarding damages to Ukraine for the illegal seizure by Russian institutions will be forwarded to international judicial agencies.
