Minsk Agreements provisions regarding security must be implemented in parallel with political steps

Those clauses in the Minsk Agreements relating to security issues must be performed in parallel with political steps, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said.

"Recently, we can see that security is impossible without strengthening the political process. On the other hand, the political process cannot go on without security. So we have to make efforts to implement it, namely, the security package and political package, in a sound and parallel manner," Steinmeier told a news conference in Kyiv on Wednesday.

In this context, it is important to restore Ukraine's control over its border with Russia and this issue remains on the current agenda, Steinmeier added.
