Amnesty in Donbas possible only after elections and reinstatement of judicial authority in region
The amnesty of the members of militants operating in the east of Ukraine is only possible after holding the democratic elections in Donbas, Ukraine's representative in the political subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group, Olha Aivazovska, has said.
"On the subject of amnesty, the Ukrainian position is clear: one can talk of amnesty only after holding the democratic elections, and if the work of the judicial branch of authority is reinstated. That is, amnesty may be a measure implemented within the framework of the judicial and legal system of the state of Ukraine, and not by any other means," she said during a broadcast of the 112 TV channel.
