Ukrainian foreign minister meets with Council of Europe secretary general
In the framework of his working visit to Bulgaria, Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin has met with Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjorn Jagland to discuss the matter of human rights protection on the occupied territories of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's press service reported.
"During the meeting, the officials discussed further cooperation with the Council of Europe in the field of human rights protection in Ukraine, in particular in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea occupied by Russia," the press service said.
Also, Klimkin and Jagland discussed the issue of release of Ukrainian political prisoners.
As reported, on Tuesday evening the Ukrainian foreign minister began a two-day visit to Bulgaria, where he will attend the 126th meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
