Kyiv says Donetsk military parade on May 9 is violation of Minsk Agreements
The Ukrainian side in Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk (Belarus) has warned representatives of certain districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions that the military in Donetsk planned for May 9 would be a direct violation of Minsk Agreements, Darka Olifer, spokeswoman for Ukraine's second president Leonid Kuchma (who represents the country in the Trilateral Contact Group) has said.
"On the eve of celebration of May 9 we warn representatives of certain districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions: that holding the so-called military parade in Donetsk will be a direct violation of the Minsk Agreements," she wrote on her Facebook account following the Trilateral Contact Group meeting on Wednesday.
Olifer stressed that in accordance to the Minsk Agreements all weapons should be withdrawn from the contact line to permanent storage facilities.
The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) is tasked with confirming weapons withdrawal.
