Situation in Ukraine far from peace - German Foreign Minister
German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier has said Ukraine is still far from the settlement of the conflict.
"We are still far from finding a solution [to the situation in Ukraine]," he said, speaking at the Munich Security Conference on Saturday.
The minister stressed the importance of the Minsk agreements.
"The Minsk agreements are very important despite the fact we are still fighting for their fulfillment because without them we could follow a more dangerous way," the official said.
At the same time, he noted that "it is impossible to wait for the implementation of the Minsk agreements forever."
"We must persevere in our efforts," he added.
