Speaker to sign bill on restructuring currency-pegged credits, believes bill is to be vetoed

Speaker of the Ukrainian parliament Volodymyr Groysman has said that he will sign the bill on restructuring of foreign currency-pegged credits (No. 1558-1), but he is confident that the bill should be vetoed.

"It is obvious that the bill should be vetoed, and the new bill should be urgently submitted to the Verkhovna Rada to settle the problem of those people whom it may concern," he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Monday.

He said that there are legal mechanisms allowing him to sign the bill.

Spokesman of the speaker Dmytro Stoliarchuk said that a group of lawmakers withdrew their draft resolution on revoking the voting for the bill.

An Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported that among those who withdrew the draft resolution are MPs from Petro Poroshenko Bloc Serhiy Leschenko, Mustafa Nayem, Svitlana Zalyschuk, and MP from People's Front Andriy Teteruk.
