PGO trying to stop construction of Odesa airport - Saakashvili
The Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) is trying to stop the construction of Odesa airport, Head of Odesa Regional State Administration Mikheil Saakashvili said at an international anti-corruption conference held in Kyiv.
"Today, the Prosecutor General's Office opened a case to stop the construction of the airport," he said.
Saakashvili said that the local authorities believe that the development of the airport is one of the top-priorities for the region.
He said that the Odesa airport could become a powerful hub which the PGO wants to prevent from happening.
"In times of one my countryman who managed the common empire it was called sabotage," he said.
Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Andriy Pyvovarsky said he was unaware of the actions of the PGO.
