Ukrainian Air Force Su-25 aircraft crashes in Zaporizhia region, pilot dies – Defense Ministry
A Sukhoi Su-25 plane of the Ukrainian Air Force crashed during a scheduled training flight, killing the pilot, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry has said.
"A Sukhoi Su-25 plane of the Ukrainian Air Force crashed during a scheduled training flight at about 1000 on November 11, 2015. The tragedy happened 40 kilometers north of Zaporizhia. The pilot, born in 1992, was killed; there were no casualties amongst the local population," the report said.
A search-and-rescue party is operating at the scene of the tragedy.
The accident is being investigated; its causes and circumstances are being verified.
