Court refuses to question Savchenko's sister in Donetsk, Rostov region

The defense team of Ukrainian pilot and MP Nadia Savchenko has asked to provide Savchenko’s sister Nadia as a witness which would change the evidence examination order.

Savchenko's lawyer will address the court with a petition to question Savchenko's sister Vira due to extreme circumstances.

"This week Vira Savchenko crossed the state border near Russian residential area Gukovo and is in Donetsk [Rostov region] now, but we're not sure at all that if she comes back Ukraine, she would be let into Russia again," lawyer Ilya Novikov said.

However, the court refused to accept the petition, saying it was premature.
