Contact Group recommends continuing withdrawal of arms smaller than 100mm in Donbas despite Oct 7 shelling
The Trilateral Contact Group for Ukraine has recommended that the withdrawal of weapons smaller than 100mm in caliber from the line of contact in Donbas be continued, as an incident in which Ukrainian government forces were shelled on October 7 was exceptional, says Darya Olifer, the press secretary for former Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma, who represents Kyiv in the Contact Group.
"As the October 7 shelling was an isolated incident that is not systemic and intensive in nature, the Trilateral Contact Group recommended continuing the implementation of the agreement on withdrawing weapons smaller than 100mm in caliber from the line of contact," Olifer said on Facebook in reporting outcomes of the Trilateral Contact Group's video conference on Friday.
