Naftogaz in talks on reducing gas price under European contracts - Demchyshyn
Naftogaz Ukrainy is in talks with European partners on reducing prices for imported gas, Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Volodymyr Demchyshyn has said in Kyiv.
"Right now, given the fact that the price in Europe is falling, we try to re-sign [the agreement] for a new price under the contracts that were signed," he said.
As reported, with reference to live data from Eustream, the operator of the gas transportation system in Slovakia, the request for natural gas imports from Slovakia to Ukraine on October 1 was reduced to 8.884 million cubic meters.
Ukraine, the Russian Federation and the European Commission on September 25 initialed an agreement on the terms of Russian gas supplies in the coming heating season. The price of Russian gas for Ukraine in the fourth quarter of 2015 will be $227.36 per 1,000 cubic meters.
