Decision to impose sanctions to take force after publication of decree in official media
The decision of Ukrainian authorities to impose sanctions against individuals and companies will take force after the publication of the relevant decree of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in official media, the Presidential Administration of Ukraine reported.
"The decision will take force at once after its publication in the Holos Ukrainy [parliament's newspaper] and Uriadovy Kurier [government's newspaper]," the press service of the administration told Interfax-Ukraine.
As reported, on September 16, Poroshenko by his decree enacted the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of September 2.
The presidential decree is supplemented with two attachments with full lists of the individuals and companies to which sanctions and other restrictive measures are applied to for one year and posted on the president's website. The list comprises of 400 individuals and 90 legal entities from Russia, and other countries to which the sanctions apply.
The NSDC has backed the proposal made by President Petro Poroshenko to remove European journalists from the sanctions list and Poroshenko by his decree enacted the decision of the NSDC of September 17, according to which European journalists have been removed from the sanction list.
