Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said that he has decided to delay further mobilization of the armed forces during a speech before meeting with representatives of the coalition factions on Monday, the "Ukrainian Truth" website has reported.
"I made a decision in the conditions of de facto realization of the ceasefire regime to delay the mobilization, not to conduct [it] and not to announce [it]. Today, the first fragile possibilities for that occurred and [the possibility] to use amendments to the budget to increase the numbers of contract soldiers in the army [has arisen]," Poroshenko said.
On September 5 Poroshenko said that the week preceding that date had been the first time that the Minsk agreements had been properly implemented.
