Some 131 out of the 141 people hospitalized after the Monday confrontation near the Verkhovna Rada are police officers and servicemen of the National Guard, Ukrainian Interior Ministry communications department director Artem Shevchenko has said.
"Cold hard facts from the Interior Ministry: 141 people have been hurt in all, including 131 policemen and National Guard Servicemen, and ten of them are seriously injured," he wrote on Facebook on Tuesday morning.
Thirteen out of 18 protesters suspected of mass disturbances and put in Kyiv detention facilities have been released, Shevchenko said.
A source in the Kyiv police department told Interfax-Ukraine on Tuesday morning that 141 people hurt in the clashes near the Verkhovna Rada on August 31 were staying at Kyiv medical institutions as of Tuesday morning.
