CEC receives reports from Donetsk, Luhansk regions on settlements where local elections won't be held
The Central Election Commission (CEC) has received reports from the heads of Donetsk and Luhansk regional military and civilian administrations on the settlements where the upcoming local elections won't be held, the CEC press service has told Interfax-Ukraine.
The CEC will soon consider the reports and made an appropriate decision on the matter.
Earlier, the CEC approved the clarification according to which Donetsk and Luhansk regional military and civilian administrations should by August 21 submit to the CEC the list of settlements in the regions, in which local elections will not be held on October 25.
According to the document, the Central Election Commission will then decide on the impossibility of holding local elections in these localities and immediately submit its decision to the Verkhovna Rada for approval.
