The so-called people's republics in Donbas have exchanged prisoners lists with Kyiv, Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) envoy to the Contact Group Denis Pushilin said.
"The lists of prisoners were given to Ukraine's envoy Viktor Medvedchuk. Ukraine in turn gave its lists as well. We call for the swiftest possible exchange [of prisoners] on the 'all-to-all' basis. We demand that others be pardoned and amnestied but the Ukrainian law on amnesty must take effect first," Pushilin told journalists in Minsk.
There are 45 Ukrainian prisoners in the Donetsk and the Luhansk People's Republics. "There are 40 people in the DPR and five more in the LPR. Twenty-eight out of those kept in the DPR committed grave crimes. Criminal investigations are held in their respect. Twelve others are pending the exchange. Every one is ready for the exchange in the LPR," he said.
