Draft of amendments to Constitution foresees less immunity for judges –Presidential Administration
The draft of amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine developed by a working group on judicial reform includes less immunity for judges, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine Oleksiy Filatov has said.
"A judge will have immunity only for doing his job on ensuring justice. A judge can't be held liable only for a court's ruling. If a judge causes a road traffic accident or commits other violation not falling under execution of judicial functions, he's brought to justice like any other citizen," he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Monday.
