Beijing to host 2022 Winter Olympic Games

Beijing has won the title of hosting the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2022.

During the vote at an International Olympic Committee (IOC) meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Beijing surpassed its only rival, Almaty.

The Chinese capital will become the first city to have hosted both summer and winter Olympics. Beijing hosted the summer Olympics in 2008.
