Twelve police officers dismissed from new patrol service – Zguladze
Twelve police officers have been dismissed from the new patrol service, four of them because of serious reasons, first deputy Interior Minister of Ukraine Eka Zguladze has said.
"Four of them had a serious cause of dismissal. You probably saw that video on YouTube. Unfortunately, a new patrol policeman behaved absolutely incorrectly when he talked to a man on Khreschatyk…Some other fellows were dismissed because they fell asleep in their cars," she said at a meeting with potential patrol police officers who are currently studying and training at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs on Friday.
"This is a very hard response to such mistakes. Perhaps in two years we won't dismiss [police officers] for that, just to punish them in another way, in a disciplinary [way], but today we set very high standards. And we must maintain such standards," she added.
