Poroshenko sees Eka Zguladze as head of national police
Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko has said that Deputy Interior Minister Eka Zguladze is the best candidate for the post of the head of the national police of Ukraine.
"A month ago I openly said that I see Eka Zguladze as the head of the national police... After the patrol police was launched, my conviction only strengthened," Poroshenko said during an expanded board meeting of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine in Kyiv on Friday.
The president noted that his opinion was shared by Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk and Interior Minister Arsen Avakov.
"What's left is to get Ms. Eka's consent," Poroshenko said noting that she had not yet agreed to be appointed as the head of the national police.
