Open flame not observed at oil depot near Kyiv on Wednesday morning - State Emergency Service
Open flame was not observed on the premises of the BRSM-Nafta oil depot in the village of Kriachky in Vasylkiv district of the Kyiv region as of 7 a.m. on Wednesday, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine has said.
"No flame was observed as of 7 a.m. on June 17 on the site of the fire which broke out at the oil depot of LLC Pobutrembutmaterialy in the urban-type settlement of Hlevakha in Vasylkiv district on June 8, 2015," the report said.
According to it, the area has been secured and access to the oil depot has been restricted by the National Guard.
A crisis management staff of the State Emergency Service is operating on the fire site 24/7.
The fire at the BRSM-Nafta oil depot in Kriachky started in the evening of June 8. As of now, five people have been declared dead and 15 have been wounded. Oil reservoirs were burning for almost three days. The fire resumed on June 13 after a reservoir had de-pressurized and fuel had leaked.
