BRSM-Nafta suspects arson was cause of fire at oil depot
The BRSM-Nafta filling station chain believes it is unlikely that carelessness caused the fire at its oil depot in Kriachky (Vasylkiv District, Kyiv region) near Kyiv, and suspects that arson could have caused the fire.
"Neglectful behavior could not cause this, as the oil depot has been operating for over 10 years and has a large experience of work. We consider that arson could be among possible reasons, as there are interested persons," Director of the Strategic Marketing Department Oleksandr Melnychuk told Interfax-Ukraine.
He said that several statements against the company were recently made, in particular, by Havrylov (possibly Director General of Ukrtransnaftoproduct Volodymyr Havrylov).
Interior Minister of Ukraine Arsen Avakov reported that six firefighters have been hospitalized with burns.
The fire began in one fuel tank and spread to other tanks.
