Ukrainian Rada gives consent to ex-volunteer battalion commander's prosecution, objects to arrest
The Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada has granted a Prosecutor General's request on prosecuting Serhiy Melnychuk, a former commander of the Aidar volunteer battalion and currently an unaffiliated deputy, with 262 parliamentarians voting for this decision.
At the same time, the Rada objected to the prosecutor general's request on detaining and then arresting Melnychuk, as only 32 and 16 parliamentarians respectively voted for this.
