Use of special communication line by state agencies is wide global practice - MTS Ukraine
MTS Ukraine mobile communications operator believes that the use of special communications lines by state agencies is a wide global practice, the press service of the operator has told Interfax-Ukraine.
"In global practice special communications lines are used for certain strategically important goals of the state linked to the increased confidentiality. Once this special communications line existed in Ukraine and it was called government phone line. Specialized divisions serviced it – government communications troops. Later the troops were dissolved. It's absolutely obvious that the system should be restored," the press service said.
The company said it is ready to support the state in its initiatives.
"The resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers does not have direct relation to commercial operators, while if it is required we're ready to support the state with consultation or aid in any other area," the company said.
