Ukraine's leadership, veterans lay flowers to Tomb of Unknown Soldier in Kyiv
The leadership of Ukraine and veterans have laid flowers to the Tomb of Unknown Soldier in Kyiv on the day of the 70th anniversary of victory over Nazism.
In particular, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk and members of the government, National Security and Defense Council secretary Oleksadr Turchynov, Kyiv mayor Vitaliy Kli ts chko and WWII veterans came to Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Park of Glory, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported. Former Ukrainian presidents Leonid Kuchma and Viktor Yuschenko also attended the flower laying ceremony.
After flowers were laid Ukraine's anthem was played. The ceremony ended with the procession of soldiers of the guard of honor.
