Next meeting of Contact Group sub-group on security will be held in Ukraine on May 19 - OSCE SMM deputy chief monitor
The next session of the sub-group on security of the Trilateral Contact Group on the situation in eastern Ukraine will take place in Ukraine on May 19, OSCE SMM Deputy Chief Monitor Alexander Hug said.
Hug told a briefing in Kyiv on Thursday he has returned from Minsk a couple of hours earlier where he had attended a meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group to attend the beginning of the work of the sub-groups. He said the OSCE SMM will coordinate the working sub-group on security.
This group has two priorities; the fulfillment of the plan to demilitarize Shyrokyne and the fulfillment of the plan to withdraw heavy weapons of caliber exceeding 152 mm from the engagement line.
Hug said an agreement has been reached to monitor the situation to confirm the fulfillment by the parties of the Minsk agreements. The next meeting of the sub-group will take place in Ukraine on May 19, he said.
