Kyiv ready to appoint representatives to Trilateral Contact Group subgroups – Foreign Ministry
Ukraine is ready to appoint representatives to the subgroups within the Trilateral Contact Group on settling the conflict in eastern Ukraine, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has announced.
"The minister during the talks [in Berlin] said that the most important format for dialogue over the other aspects of settlement [of the conflict in eastern Ukraine], in particular political and humanitarian, is the Trilateral Contact Group. In this context it is important to establish within the group four subgroups on security issues, political process, humanitarian and economic issues," ministry spokesman Yevhen Perebyinis said at a briefing on Wednesday.
Perebyinis said that Ukraine is prepared for urgent participation in setting up such groups.
"Ukraine is prepared for a prompt setting up of such groups, but full-fledged consultations within the Trilateral Contact Group should be carried [out] first," he added.
