The fighting continues in the area of Vuhlehirsk in Donetsk region and militants are shelling roadblocks and strongholds, the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) has reported.
"ATO forces are engaged in artillery and are destroying weapons, men and hardware of the enemy in pinpoint strikes," the ATO press center wrote on Facebook on Friday afternoon.
The press center said it would not disclose information about operations of Ukrainian units and their positions in order to not do harm to ATO operations.
Samopomich deputy, Donbas battalion commander Semen Semenchenko said earlier in the day that rebels were controlling Vuhlehirsk and the Ukrainian army had a number of strongholds under its control.
Another deputy representing the People's Front, advisor of the Interior Minister, Anton Heraschenko, wrote on Facebook, "I have just spoken with Donetsk police chief Viacheslav Abroskin and guys from the Svitiaz special police battalion about the Vuhlehirsk-Debaltseve situation. Vuhlehirsk and Debaltseve are ours!"
