Mistral situation taken to arbitration court - Expert Council chair
The Mistral-class helicopter carrier situation has been taken to an international arbitration court which will assess the damage done to Russia. There may be two types of penalties, Military Industrial Commission Expert Council Chairman Mikhail Remezov said.
"There are two types of penalties. One is part of the contract and the other is a subject of hearings at an arbitration court in connection with the damage that needs comprehensive assessment," Remezov said in an interview with the Ekho Moskvy radio.
The deadline for the delivery of Mistral-class ships to Russia was November of last year but the contract allows France to delay it for several months. After that claims against Paris are likely to be made, he said.
