Drone blast kills volunteer at Yavoriv firing range in Lviv region
A volunteer from Kyiv region was killed at the Yavoriv firing range in Lviv region on Thursday due to the explosion of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), Head of the Western Regional Media Center of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry Oleksandr Poroniuk has told Interfax-Ukraine.
"The volunteer sustained fatal injuries as a result of the drone explosion," Poroniuk said on Thursday.
He said that the victim had been engaged in creating drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and had repeatedly visited the anti-terrorist operation area in eastern Ukraine.
The incident occurred at about 10.00 on Thursday.
Representatives of the military law enforcement service and the military prosecutor's office are working at the scene of the incident.
