Center of Imitation Modeling to open at Yavoriv training ground in Sept

A center for imitation modeling will be opened at the International Peacekeeping and Security Center (Yavoriv training grounds) in Lviv region by the end of August 2017, according to Ukraine's Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak.

"Creation of the center is proceeding according to prearranged plans and it will be ready to train headquarters staff and units through the brigade level by late August," Poltorak said during a visit to the National Academy of Ground Forces.

According to the defense ministry's official website, more than UAH 22 million has been spent on the project. Foreign partners donated equipment, a portion of which is worth $1.5 million.

"The construction work is already done and on August 15 the training modules will be calibrated," Poltorak said.

As earlier reported, the center for imitation modeling will be located at a 3,500-hectare plot at the military training grounds. The center is being built according to NATO standards.
