Three policemen hurt by tear gas outside concert hall in Kyiv
Three police officers were injured while resisting about 100 protesting young men who tried to stop people from attending Ukrainian singer Ani Lorak's concert at the Ukraine Palace in Kyiv, the city's police said in a press release.
"These young men were using tear gas against people and were throwing stones and eggs at them," according to the press release.
"As police sought to restore order outside the Ukraine Palace, three police officers who resisted the hooligans suffered when tear gas burned their lungs and eyes. They were treated by ambulance crews on the spot," Kyiv's police said.
None of the civilians was hurt in the incident.
A preliminary investigation has been launched into these events under Part 3 of Article 296 of Ukraine's Penal Code (hooliganism).
