Donetsk remains under artillery fire on Nov 23 - council

Donetsk on Sunday continued to be shelled by artillery fire, the city council said.

Four cars parked outside a building in Kuibyshevsky district were destroyed by a shell, the council said in a statement.

"The evening began in Donetsk with a series of artillery shots and explosions as reported by residents of the northern part of the city. As of 17:00 local time sporadic heavy gun shots were audible in many districts," it said.

Nevertheless, emergency teams were repairing damaged electricity transmission lines, the council said. It said that, after bombardments on Saturday, 65 transformer substations and 11 central heating stations remained unpowered.
