Poroshenko, Putin stressed need for full ceasefire

Ukrainian Presidents Petro Poroshenko and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in a telephone conversation on Tuesday discussed the need to ensure a full ceasefire regime and artillery silence in Donbas.

"The president of Ukraine and the president of Russian also stressed the need to ensure a full ceasefire regime and artillery silence," the Ukrainian president's press service reported.

In turn, the Kremlin press service said that Putin and Poroshenko also reaffirmed "importance of continued facilitation of the peace process in southeastern Ukraine and observance of the ceasefire regulations."

During his visit to Pivdenne Design Bureau in Dnipropetrovsk the Ukrainian president said that another agreement concerning "the period of quiet" in Donbas will be reached on Tuesday.

"Today, there will be another attempt to agree to announce artillery silence. Let's see how this will go. The agreements reached in Milan give reason to very cautious optimism," he said.
