Poroshenko's envoy: 822 people released from captivity
Of a total of 2,500 people, who have gone missing since the beginning of the military conflict in Donbas or are held in captivity, 822 people have been released, the Ukrainian president's commissioner for the Donbas conflict settlement, Iryna Heraschenko, has said.
"At the moment, the lists of the Ukrainian Security Service's interagency center have about 2,500 names of those who have gone missing or are held hostage. 822 people have now been freed," she told reporters in Kyiv on Tuesday.
Heraschenko also said that the talks on the release of hostages have not been easy.
"But our leadership and the Security Service, and those dealing with this problem have been applying maximum effort to accelerate this process. Under the Minsk accords, all hostages must be freed within ten days," she said.
