Donetsk City Council says city not quiet again

The sound of explosions and gunfire can be heard in Donetsk, the city authorities' Web site reported.

"Donetsk was not quiet as of 1230 p.m. The sound of heavy gunfire and explosions can be heard in practically every district," the city council said in a report published on Monday.

Public utility systems are working, it said.

Temporary power outages are possible in the Kirovsky district because of routine maintenance of a cotton factory substation.

"Workers are repairing a damaged water pipe on the intersection of Bashkyrska and Artemivska Streets, which brings water to several water stations of the city. Welding is in progress," the City Council said.
