Two Donetsk residents killed, eight wounded in shelling attacks on Sunday - City Council

Two civilians were killed and eight others were wounded during shelling attacks in Donetsk on Sunday, the City Council's press service reported.

"The situation was extremely tense as of 1900 local time. The sound of a cannonade and explosions could be heard all through the day. The situation was particularly serious in Petrovsky, Kyivsky and Kuibyshevsky districts. Eighth civilians were injured and two were killed," it said in a statement.

Six residential buildings in Kyivsky and Kuibyshevsky districts were hit by shells and caught fire.

"Shells also hit a glass factory, whose roof, equipment and raw materials were damaged," the statement says.

Although the situation is serious in the city, work continued to repair electric power lines.
