Poroshenko hopes for resolving issues of Crimea, Donbas via reforms in Ukraine
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko hopes that the issues of Donbas and Kyiv will be resolved via democratic and economic reforms in Ukraine.
"Crimea will be with us again and not necessarily by military means. I am certain that we will win the economic, democratic and liberal competition for the minds and attitudes of Crimean residents," Poroshenko said in Kyiv on Friday at the annual European strategy meeting (YES).
"And the standard of living in Ukraine behind the administrative border of the peninsula will be much better. This is the only way we can win the battle for the attitude of Crimean residents. The way to resolve the conflict in the east in some districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions is the same," he said.
