Ukrainian speaker to visit Lithuania on August 17-19 to participate in conference of heads of NB8 parliaments
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Turchynov will visit Lithuania on August 17-19 to take part in the conference of speakers of parliaments of Nordic-Baltic Eight, which will be held in the town of Palanga.
Turchynov will participate in the discussion of the EU Eastern Partnership between the past Vilnius summit and the upcoming summit in Riga, the press service of the Verkhovna Rada reported.
In addition, Turchynov will meet with Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite, Speaker of the Lithuanian Parliament Loreta Grauziniene, Speaker of the Latvian Parliament Solvita Aboltina, and Speaker of the Swedish Parliament Per Westerberg.
The Verkhona Rada chairman will also participate in a joint press conference of speakers of parliaments of NB8 for the Lithuanian media and lay flowers at the monument to Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko in Vilnius.
On August 18-20, 2014, Lithuanian resort town of Palanga will host the annual conference of the speakers of parliaments of Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8), which includes Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
