Former Ukrainian prosecutor general not seeking Kazakh citizenship - Astana
Former Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka has not sought Kazakh citizenship, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry press office said in a statement on Monday.
"According to the information of the Kazakh law enforcement authorities, Pshonka Viktor Pavlovych, is not listed as crossing the state border in Kazakhstan," the document said.
"Pshonka has not filed a request to migration police subdivisions for permanent residence in Kazakhstan and citizenship under the procedure required," the press office said.
All persons with the surname Pshonka have been checked against the database of the Kazakh population.
"The same inspection has been held by territorial internal affairs bodies and migration police subdivisions," the Foreign Ministry said.
