Two districts of Donetsk come under fire - city council
Leninsky and Kyivsky districts of Donetsk were seriously damaged by artillery attacks last night, the press service for Donetsk City Council reported on Tuesday.
Emergency services have arrived to try and battle the fires. There is currently no information on casualties.
There is information that city infrastructure was damaged.
"Gas pipelines in the Kyivsky and Leninsky districts were damaged. In Kyivsky district, a shell damaged a power line, which left four substations without power. Fifty-four residential buildings are now without power," the press service reported.
Rails and railroad power lines were also damaged at major railway stations Yasynovata, Avdiyivka, Horlivka, and Mykytivka and train traffic has been temporarily suspended at the station Donetsk.
"The administration is taking measures to repair the infrastructure and resume traffic as soon as possible," the city council reported on its Web site.
