Ukrainian PM welcomes West's new sanctions against Russia
Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has welcomed new U.S. and EU sanctions against Russia.
"All of Russia's attempts to split the EU and hinder the EU and the U.S. were doomed to failure," Yatseniuk said at a Ukrainian government meeting on Thursday.
"The time has come to pay for the aggression, arms supplies to Ukrainian territory, and the financing of thugs," he said.
The Ukrainian prime minister praised Western partners for "demonstrating unity between the U.S. and the EU and commitment to democratic values, the preservation of peace and support for Ukraine."
Yatseniuk also stated that the Russian people "suffer from Russia's inadequate policy toward Ukraine."
