Gunmen seize neurosurgery unit of Donetsk hospital

Armed men have seized the building of the neurosurgery unit of the Kalinin Hospital in Donetsk, according to the Donetsk regional state administration's health care department.

"Today 30 armed men seized the first floor of the neurosurgery unit of the Donetsk regional clinical territorial medical association (Kalinin Hospital). It is an active unit with patients, including from among DPR (Donetsk People's Republic) members," the Department said in a statement on Tuesday.

"The presence of the strangers inside the hospital is interfering with the medical diagnostic process," Olena Petriayeva, the Department's acting deputy director, said.
