Ukraine flag raised over two cities, military tells Poroshenko
Ukraine's defense minister, Valeriy Heletei, and General Staff chief, Viktor Muzhenko, have informed President Petro Poroshenko that the national flag has been hoisted over the cities of Artemivsk and Druzhkivka in the Donetsk region.
"Ukrainian troops have liberated two more populated areas from militants," says an announcement, posted on the president's Web site on Sunday.
Poroshenko was also informed about the current stage in the law enforcement operation in eastern Ukraine.
"The president ordered special attention to be paid to removing mines from the city infrastructure and preventing civilian fatalities," the posting says.
Poroshenko also said that efforts to restore the infrastructure in the liberated cities must begin, and that food, fresh water and humanitarian aid must be supplied in full to local residents, according to Poroshenko's Web site.
