Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council sees no point in imposing martial law in southeast
The Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council has decided that it would be inappropriate to impose martial law on the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, National Security and Defense Council Secretary Andriy Parubiy said on Tuesday evening.
"Imposing martial law today means absolutely changing the structure of handling the operation that is being conducted now, and in fact this would be an unacceptable pause for the operation's efficiency. And therefore, absolutely all participants in yesterday's National Security and Defense Council meeting unanimously supported the proposal on continuing the active phase of the antiterrorist operation," Parubiy said on ICTV television channel on Tuesday evening.
Parubiy also said that Russian forces could at any time move to an open attack on Ukraine, but this should not deter the actions of the Ukrainian security forces to protect their country.
